The Best Coming of Age Movies Ever

The Best Coming of Age Movies Ever

Posted by curtoon2062 in Blawg, Cool, Must Reads

by Curtis D. Tucker Updated 5/23/2011 – I thought it was time to update my best coming of age movie list. I recently rented a great movie that I think fits perfectly into this category. The movie is called “That’s What I Am” released in 2011. The story centers around a 12 year old boy and the events that surround his life and his friends lives at school. It stars Ed Harris and deals with many subjects important to junior high kids in 1965 but really explores the problem...

Who The Heck Is Matt Harding?

Posted by curtoon2062 in Blawg, Must Reads

(This is a re-post from 2008) I love to run across interesting people that are doing or have done something really cool, wacky or fun. I especially like it when these people are doing what they have a passion for and are even making money at it. This is a tribute to a guy that took his funky dance and turned it into a corporate sponsored occupation. Most of us can only dream to get to all of the locations Matt has made it to. I love the dance, I love the video and I love the song. This is, in...

1974 – The Good Old Days

Posted by curtoon2062 in Blawg, Must Reads, The 70's

Many of the stories, games and adventures I write about on this blog took place in the mid 70′s. I formed a lifelong friendship with a core group of four other guys. Our friendship began in 1974 as I entered the sixth grade. Three of us were in the same class together and the other two were actually two years our junior. The photo above is a recent mini reunion I had with two guys from the old neighborhood. We have not all been together in well over 30 years. I’ll soon write more...

Little Inspirational Sayings

Posted by curtoon2062 in Blawg, Must Reads

I love reading great little inspirational sayings. I especially like sayings that have meaning and really make you think. I am going to list my favorite sayings here as I find them. I hope some of these can inspire, motivate or just make you think. 1. “No matter what they tell you, you don’t have to stay within the lines.” – Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. 2. “People will rarely remember what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.” 3....

My Best Fatherly Advice

Posted by curtoon2062 in Blawg, Must Reads

by Curtis D. Tucker Being a sneaker wearing dad of two beautiful daughters I have decided to publish my best fatherly advice. These are the guidelines every young girl should know. 1. Boys Are Evil – Really no explanation needed. Refer to #2. 2. Boys Will Say Anything To Kiss You – Do not under any circumstances find yourself alone with a boy until you are either in a very committed relationship or are married. Public places are fine. There is only one reason a boy would want to be...

My 1970′s Pin Up Poster

Posted by curtoon2062 in Blawg, Must Reads, The 70's

Wow! I never thought I would have my own poster and yet here it is. This is a prime example of what can happen when you build a blog and start to market yourself. This great old photo of me and my friend from the 70′s has now been turned into a marketing poster. Through my knowledge of SEO I now tag all of my photographs with quality keywords which allows them to easily be found in image searches like Google Images. I name the photo something like 1970photograph.jpg and then add ALT tags...
