It's Super Bowl Weekend! (Yawn)
Yes, yawn is right. Super Bowl Sunday doesn't mean much around our house unless someone else is having a party. If I was sitting at my computer working I'd most likely have the TV on another station rather than on the Super Bowl.
Why? I can't really put my finger on the exact moment that I lost ALL passion for the NFL but it was many years ago. I think the game is just boring. The Super Bowl is boring and the half time show is so overrated it's a bigger let down than the game.
The best part of the Super Bowl? The commercials! And luckily you don't have to watch the Super Bowl to see them any longer. Just watch the news and the Internet and you'll get to see the best commercials. They don't even save them for the Super Bowl much any more.
I think the NFL has lost its luster because players are no longer loyal to their teams, coaches are no longer loyal to their players, owners are no longer loyal to their coaches and you can't even count on a team staying in one city any longer. The team you like this year could be divided into eight others teams, a new coach and a new city by next year. Why follow that crap?
So here's a half ass cheer for the Super Bowl this year... yippee.
