Memoirs of A 70's Sneaker Wearing Dad (<--click)

Welcome to my groovy little "70's" Blog. This is an online diary highlighting my coming of age memories in the 1970's, my journey as a entrepreneurial dad and my observations of life today.

My hope is that this will be a journal of my wacky experiences that can be looked back on by my daughters, my family and my friends. Read with amusement and enjoy my take on being happy, finding things to live for and the funny side of parenting.

Movie Stars in my Hometown

Casey Affleck in Enid, OK(click for a larger photo)
Movie producers are in my hometown filming a movie called, "The Killer Inside Me". This photo is of Casey Affleck getting ready to shoot a scene in downtown Enid, Oklahoma.

There's one thing I noticed that makes me think I would be PERFECT for Hollywood... notice the shoes. Both cast and crew got sneakers on! I'd fit right in. Woo Hoo!

For more photos and video visit Enid's hottest website EnidBuzz.com.

News 9 did a story on the filming of "The Killer Inside Me", tonight on their 6 o'clock newscast. I was asked if they could use a few of my photos for the story.

This video was shot off of the TV and is a little stretched..

Farrah Fawcett Poster Mania

Wow! Since Farrah's passing I have been getting a ton of attention about this photo with me opening her poster. I was recently featured on the homepage of CNN.com! A writer from CNN interviewed me for a story on Farrah being the last, great pin up star. I'll post the article on the press page as quick as I can.

Here's a link to the story... link.

The photo will also be appearing in the next issue of Travel Girl Magazine.

The year was 1976 and I was a young, very impressionable kid. Farrah Fawcett was taking the world by storm and I was smitten. This is the moment I received my very own Farrah Fawcett poster.

I hung this poster on a wall in my bedroom and began to add magazine pictures, photo clippings and other memorabilia until that entire wall was completely covered. Charlies Angels was a hit and I had every promotional photo ever taken in my collection.

I will always remember the 70's and that iconic poster.

New iPhone Video at the Pool

I got a new iPhone for Father's Day and it takes video! You can take a video, edit it and immediately upload it to YouTube. You can then grab the embed code and stick it on your blog like I just did. Wow!

And to think our parents had to take 8mm in the 70's and wait weeks to get the movie back from being precessed. Then they had to set up the projector just to watch it. My how life has changed.

The second child jumper on the video is the same daughter that refused to jump off only two weeks ago. Now she won't stop and even jumps off the high dive.

A One Year Anniversary

Wow! It's already been a year since I launched CurtisTucker.com. That was quick. Unfortunately I'm still trying to find my groove with this blog. I want to enlighten my daughters with wisdom and tales from my childhood but feel this blog needs something more.

It has slowly taken a turn towards my memories of the 70's which has been fun. Can anyone help me out a little? If there were a blog out there about _______, that you would read daily, what would it be? What kinds of posts do you enjoy and wish there were more of?

I'm open to just about anything and would love to take this blog to the next level in the up coming year two. Send me your ideas and thanks for reading over the past year!

Email me.

Land of the Lost - A Cool 1970's TV Series

Hey, I'm a kid of the 70's and I loved Land of the Lost with all it's Sleestack and Pylons. You have to remember that the effects and acting were well before Star Wars and Hannah Montana. We didn't know any better and thought the show was way ahead of its time.

Fast forward to 2009 and some yahoo executive thinks he can create a hit movie based on the Land of the Lost name. Add Will Ferrell, lame jokes and a story that has nothing to do with the original series and what do you have? A freakin flop!

Did someone really think the kids of the 70's were going to rush out and see this piece of junk? Did they think the Disney and Cartoon Channel kids of today would be rolling with laughter in the aisles? Boy were they wrong. The moment I saw the trailers to this movie I thought FLOP!! I wouldn't even rent this DVD on my worst day.

Now, why doesn't somebody take this story and create a GOOD movie for all of the LOTL fans? Think Jurassic Park, Planet of the Apes, a real attempt at updating something from the past. I would love to go see a true adventure movie based on Land of the Lost.

Taking a well known title and making a lame comedy out of it is such a waste of time. Will Ferrell? Pa-leeze.

Send Dad to a Free e-Chuckle Greeting!

Free Funny e-Chuckle GreetingsI'm looking for ways of transforming my paper greeting cards into an online gold mine. I'm taking my ChuckleBerry's cards and transforming them into what I call e-Chuckles.

What's an e-Chuckle? Well, it's not an e-Card. It's more along the lines of a funny little cartoon that you tell your family and friends about. They receive a link to the e-Chuckle much like receiving a link to a YouTube video. Click on the link and they get to view a short, funny greeting.

I don't have many created yet but I wanted to test my Father's Day e-Chuckle on everyone. Click on the link below and watch the Dad's Day e-Chuckle. Or click on the pictured e-Chuckle for a funny Old Fart Birthday Greeting. Let me know what you think. If you like it, go to the bottom of the page and you will find out how you can send it to the dad's in your life.

Enjoy! Father's Day e-Chuckle
