California Dreamin

Do you have any far out, probably never going to happen, type dreams? I think I have a beach gene somewhere in my blood. Although I have never surfed my dream job would be to own a surf shop on the beach. I would hang out all day and enjoy the surf and sun. I might even continue my cartooning from right inside the surf shop.
The photo above is my first visit to the California coast. I was walking along Pismo Beach watching two surfers preparing to ride the waves. Hot Wife and I took a trip from LA up the coast to the wine country north of San Francisco for a family wedding.
I have to admit I was a bit shocked by how cold the water actually was. I think I would need to set up shop a little further south or maybe even across the country in Florida.
Anyway, that's my "pipe" dream. LOL. So watch for a Shaggy Duck Surf Shop coming to a beach near you one of these days. You might see a sneaker wearing cartoonist working on a Mac while swinging in a hammock.

Hey Curtis and his lovely wife!
Judy here from Dirty Hairy...waving hello! Welcome to CA! Come to LA, where it's a little warmer here! We need your talent here in LA, so pack up and move here...sunsets and ocean waves await you guys!
You know what they say on Nike's advertising slogan, don't you?
Great photo! Yes- what a great life that would be. Cartooning at the beach. It's truly inspiring. I'll see who I can talk to about turning up the water temperature a bit. The coldness bothers me alot.
