Memoirs of A 70's Sneaker Wearing Dad (<--click)

Welcome to my groovy little "70's" Blog. This is an online diary highlighting my coming of age memories in the 1970's, my journey as a entrepreneurial dad and my observations of life today.

My hope is that this will be a journal of my wacky experiences that can be looked back on by my daughters, my family and my friends. Read with amusement and enjoy my take on being happy, finding things to live for and the funny side of parenting.

What's Up With The Sneakers Anyway?

http://www.curtistucker.com/images/sneakerslightblue.jpg

Many of you, including my daughters, may be asking what's up with the sneakers dude? Why do you wear them all of the time and why is that part of your slogan?

My only response is that they're fun. Hey, I'm a cartoonist, that works at home, and I have the freedom to wear whatever I want. What's better than waking up every day, putting on shorts, a white t-shirt and sneakers? Not much!

This is a pic of my latest sneaker buy. An awesome pair of Converse Chuck Taylor, North Carolina blue, low tops. I've been called vintage before and I think I have a bit of the 50's stuck inside of me. These vintage style sneakers give me a little of that "Happy Days" feel. (One of my all time favorite sitcoms by the way) (Until Fonzi jumped the shark of course)

Anyway, I feel lucky to be able to express my creativity by wearing goofy sneakers, goofy t-shirts and wacky shorts. I spent several years in dress shoes and tie and never felt comfortable.

How do you express your individual style? Anyone got a cooler pair of sneakers than these?

I have an orange pair of running sneakers - those are pretty cool but not sure they are as cool as yours!

Orange is a good sneaker color! I'm thinking of going red on my next pair of Converse.

This inspires me to get a pair of pink Converse. I love the fun shade of your blue ones.

Hey Marissa,

I just popped into a Foot Locker yesterday and they now have a whole new collection of colors and combo colors for Converse Chuck Taylors!
